PHYSIOTHERAPY
My approach to therapy is grounded in an evidence-informed assessment model. My teacher and mentor is Canadian Diane Lee, world-renowned international teacher and clinician.
Since selling my practice The Bingley Physiotherapy Practice Ltd, in 2021, I continue to offer my unique combination of manual therapy services to the local community.
INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MODEL
My approach to therapy is grounded in an evidence-informed assessment model – the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) incorporating the Thoracic Ring Approach™. My teacher and mentor is Canadian Diane Lee, world-renowned international teacher and clinician. This learning journey has taken me all over the UK, Ireland and to Canada and introduced me to other clinicians from all over the world.
The assessment of the problem looks to identify the driving factor for the problem rather than just treating the painful region of the body. This makes it less likely that the problem will reoccur, as the treatment releases and removes those physical, cognitive and emotional barriers that are contributing to the problem and then teaches new, optimal strategies for function that relate to your goals and meaningful tasks.

VISCERAL MANIPULATION
I studied Visceral Manipulation with The Barral Institute UK. It is a hands-on therapy that aims to encourage normal tone and movement both within and between the internal organs, their connective tissue and other structures where normal movement has been impaired. This provides the means to treat impairments in the Visceral system that are impacting the body alongside the musculoskeletal (articular and neuromuscular) and myofascial systems.
Visceral Manipulation can help to:
Restore physiologic motion to tissues and enhance normal movement of the body.
Release restriction of tissue, adhesions or scars.
Increase the rate of tissue repair.
Return normal circulation to the body.
Improve breakdown & removal of waste products.
Normalise tone in muscles & promote normal function.
Reduce inflammation & pain.
Increase joint flexibility.
Re-establish the body’s ability to adapt & restore itself to health, balance & vitality.

SUCCESS STORIES
thanks
“Jacqui’s clarity and range of manipulative skills have significantly helped my specific complaint where not many others have and her work with me has felt truly holistic in the sense that I’ve felt seen and acknowledged as a whole person (not just the problem!), as a mover and a therapist and an interaction of visceral and musculoskeletal systems. Hugely grateful for her intuition and sensitivity. If you work with your body (and prefer working with it, rather than having someone ‘adjust’ it or intervene forcefully) I would highly recommend Jacqui to you.”

CRANIAL THERAPY
Manual therapy for the Cranium forms another important part of my treatment, based upon my study with leading Canadian Physiotherapist Doreen Killens, author of Mobilizing the Myofascial System: A Clinical Guide to Assessment and Treatment of Myofascial Dysfunctions.
Cranial Therapy is a gentle manual treatment that aims to restore the rhythm and balance with the body, if the cranium is found to be the driving factor behind your individual problem. The cranium has its own rhythm, similar to that of respiration, linked to the movement of the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) and this rhythm can be felt through the body at the cranium and between the cranium and the sacrum – either ends of the spinal cord.
Cranial Therapy can help with:
The cranium is often a key part of treatment for those who have suffered previous head injury or concussion, even if it was some time ago.
It may also be a contributing factor to your particular problem even if you have never had such an injury. This would be established through the initial consultation.
This treatment is also beneficial in the treatment of more recent concussions and headaches.
The approach applied is slightly different from Cranial Osteopathy and Cranial-Sacral treatment, if you are familiar with those approaches.
I believe that this approach gives me a diverse set of tools to assess and treat the unique and specific issues of the individual through an understanding of the integration and relationship between and within the different systems of the body. I focus on what really matters to each individual.
Although I don’t have any magic wands, this approach consistently delivers fantastic results.
