SPACE TO BE YOU

live your life

My group program where you uncover what you need and what nourishes your body, mind, and spirit to make a meaningful impact on yourself and those around us.

About Space To Be You

Beware the barrenness of a busy life.

SOCRATES

Giving ourselves the permission to make space for what we need and want can be difficult. There are so many demands in our busy lives that we can forget why we are here. We need to take care of ourselves in order that we can look after and give to others. You are no good to the world if you continuously  run on empty and burnout.

‘Space to be You’ – is about committing to a regular, dedicated amount of space in your life to pause for breath. Over the 12 weeks we explore who you are, what you want out of life and what your body, mind and soul need to enable you to move closer towards that.

Sharing the space with a small group of individuals, we will understand  where you are right now and  give you the frameworks and tools to ask yourself the right questions to explore what you want to move closer to. You will gain greater understanding of what might be keeping you where you are – whether that be your beliefs, judgement or the scrutiny and expectations of others – and how to create your unique way to move forward.

You are important and who you are matters. Life is not a read through, we only get one go at this. It is vital that we can be comfortable in our own skin, know that we belong and be present in the world to make an impact – whether that be with our family, friends, community or the wider world beyond.

Whatever space you feel you want to create, this program is an investment in your most important asset – YOU! When you give your body the space to exist in harmony with your life and all the dazzling things that you are, you will thrive. When you can cultivate your responses to events, commit to this life, embrace challenges with courage and trust in yourself, connection both to yourself and the world will flourish.

The hardest piece in any course is implementing what you have learnt. My aim for this program is that you will begin to introduce new micro- habits from the very beginning. As the weeks progress, you will learn more about yourself, what you need and how to enable behaviour change. I have designed this program so that the second half will be focused on designing your unique plan of action and implementation. The accountability that the program will offer, both from myself and the rest of the group, will support you in creating space in your life.

MY STORY

Being myself hasn’t always been easy. Like so many, I attempt to fit in and change myself or try some ‘miracle method’ that I am promised will revolutionise my life!

If only it were that simple.

“What my life has taught me is that it is exhausting to try to pretend to be someone else. And why would you? We were all put here on this earth to be our own unique selves. We all have something to offer and we can do that best when we can belong comfortably with ourselves.

JACQUI TAYLOR

If this resonates with you arrange a call now with Jacqui.

What can help, however, is really getting to know yourself and what you need to support yourself in living. Now that might mean doing some things that feel a bit left field and there is inevitably an element of trial and error to find the right mix for you.

It took for me to have the diagnosis of a life-threatening illness to properly embrace and implement what I need. What if I could have seen that sooner? How might my life have been then?

I am a doer, a person who takes action and finds it relatively difficult to rest and take time out. Partly because I have carried this belief about not wanting to be ‘lazy’ for the majority of my life. Once I understood where that came from and let it go, it became far simpler.

Despite this, being who I am means my body, and more importantly, my nervous system, needs a break sometimes, so I have had to learn how to use the right tools to regulate my system and find balance. I’m not changing who I am or my personality, far from it. I still love to do all my ‘stuff’. However, I create space in my life to take care of myself in order that I can be myself.

JACQUI TAYLOR

For me that has meant embracing many of the teachings of Yoga – beyond the physical practice of Asana poses and into breathing, meditation, awareness and presence. I need to quieten the noise and speed of my brain to give my body and spirit space to exist.

I need the ‘calm’ in my life to offset the ‘wild’ – the pace I often like to live and thrive, at.

Having both makes each of them thoroughly more enjoyable. Contrast and contradiction. The paradox of both sides of the coin. I have developed a way to belong in both of these spaces.

THEN LET ME HELP YOU

make space

THE SPACE TO BE YOU

In my 12-week ‘ SPACE TO BE YOU’ Program I will share with you what I have learned about the body, mind and soul through my own personal learning and experiences of life as a physiotherapist, yoga practitioner and cancer rebel.

In saying that, I invite you to consider that we are so much more than the labels we give ourselves. I am also a business owner, wife, mother, woman and human being. We should not constrain ourselves to the roles we take on.

To move nearer to an understanding of who we are, we will cover diverse topics such as how to better understand our own nervous system, how we are subject to cognitive biases, how we make better decisions, how we look at our finances and much more to help you find what the unique and individual you needs.

There will be opportunities for you to explore what is most important to you and how you can take the next steps to move you closer towards it. There will be a focus on how you can create the space to be you. We cannot operate when we are running on a battery at 20% charge. Charge your battery then you can go out into the world to contribute and support those around you.

What is it that you need to look after yourself so that you can live your life as you?

The Program

Where are you right now?

I will guide you through how to take stock of your current position in life, work and self so that you know where you are starting from. There is no judgement and no rights or wrongs. It is simply an honest account of where you are.

What is most important to you?

What are your core priorities and personal preferences? You will do the work to gain clarity on what is most important in your life. Again – there is no judgement. What you want for your life is what you want.

Where are you going?

Or at least, where would you like to head towards? Once you have an idea of where you want to go you can plan the next step in the right direction of travel.

A

Building a Bridge.

What do you need to do to move forward? What do you need to leave behind? It might be acceptance of a situation, letting go, forgiveness of yourself and others or building trust in who you are. Whatever comes up through our discussions there will be opportunities, exercises and practices to guide you through finding what you need.

What do you need to make space for you?

What do you need to regulate, nourish and nurture your being? You will learn more about the body, the nervous system and how you can influence, regulate and support yourself. You know you. What you need is unique.

Taking steps.

The micro-steps to create sustainable change. As you collect data on your behavior,  you will adapt your habits in incremental loops to better meet your needs. You will learn how to reduce the friction and develop a smoother and flexible way forward.

CREATING SPACE

my approach

The program invites you to be

OPEN • CURIOUS • RECEPTIVE • FLEXIBLE

so that you can explore what works for you. It might mean trying something new or that you have never considered. We don’t know what we don’t know. Exploring a range of ideas and practices can open up a door that we can choose to go through, or not.

Presence and participation committing to the program and the live sessions is vital to get the most out of the program for you. I hope that you will take advantage of the time you put aside to attend the live calls, be fully there and engage with the process. When life happens, which it will, there are the recordings to fall back on, however listening, questioning, and sharing with the group will deliver the greatest benefit.

Breathing and meditation – developing a relationship with your breath and cultivating the ability to focus and be still allows you to find the space. There is no requirement of how or when you do this, only a suggestion that you experiment. Resources will be available to support this.

Journalling – a reflective, freeform writing practice where you commit to paper whatever is going in your head. This allows you to feel everything, write anything and share nothing!

Writing – deep or flow writing is relatively new to me. I find that it gives me another way to tune in to myself and my surroundings and delve further in to see what comes up. I am continually learning and adapting what I do to create space, so I wish to share all these possibilities with you.

Mindful activity – as you develop an understanding of what you want, you will be invited to approach your activities in such a way as to be fully present in them, thereby giving your system the full benefit.

Spacious mindI don’t talk about mindset as I believe that we do not do well with a ‘set’ mind. My understanding is now one of applying the wisdom of others and myself, step by step, trusting in my power, knowing I am my own greatest asset and that I will find my way. When I am calm, courageous, and present I will win. I define what winning looks like for me.

Additional resources: I will offer other suggestions for other material – reading, podcasts, etc – that you may find helpful to explore ideas both from the program and in a wider context.

Support: Community Online forum to ask questions of me and each other and discuss topics in between each live session.

This program is created from my knowledge and experience. It incorporates teachings from my mentors and coaches and my lived life experience. I will share more on this during the program.

I believe it is so vital that we know ourselves and live as ourselves. When we can belong and be comfortable in the essence of who we are, what we stand for, and what we believe in we can go out and make astounding changes in the world. We must protect our most important asset and that is ourselves.
